Letter from the pastor
This month, our church community is once again busy with the preparations for the annual church feast that will take place on September 24. This is a joyous occasion that will be attended by the bishop, many priests and religious, as well as Catholics in the diocese and in our own parish. In the church feast, we open up our church to our friends and demonstrate what it means to be a community of faith.
For a small community such as ourselves, to be able to organize a celebration is not a simple task. However, we have always done quite well with good cooperation among our parishioners, and with a lot of assistance from friends both far and near. I believe that this year will also be the same.
As we go about with the various aspects of the preparation, I would like to remind each of us the true meaning of celebrating a church feast. It is not about how much food we serve our guests, not about how attractive the performances are, or even about the number of people who attend the celebration. The true cause for celebration is that our community witnesses through concrete words and action that it is a community firmly founded on Jesus Christ, and has Jesus Christ at the heart of our activities.
By allowing Jesus to direct our community and personal life, the joy, sharing, and the spirit of cooperation that is displayed on the day of the church feast will not be restricted to just a single day, but will be seen and felt everyday by the members of our church community and by those who come to visit us.
May we prepare for our church feast with enthusiasm and love for one another, for our parish, and for the entire Universal Church.
เกร็ดความรู้เรื่องพิธีกรรม
สารวัดฉบับนี้ขออัพเดทในเรื่องของพิธีกรรมต่อจากฉบับของเดือนสิงหาคม ที่มีความเคลื่อนไหวในพระศาสนจักรไทย ในการประชุมสภาพระสังฆราชคาทอลิกแห่งประเทศไทย สมัยสามัญ 2/2010 ได้มีมติต่างๆเกี่ยวกับพิธีกรรมคณะกรรมการคาทอลิกเพื่อพิธีกรรม ซึ่งมีหน้าที่ดำเนินงานต่างๆ แทนสภาพระสังฆราชฯขอชี้แจงแนวทางปฎิบัติร่วมกันในพระศาสนาจักรไทยดังนี้
1. พิธีมิสซาบูชาขอบพระคุณ พิธีกรรมทำวัตรและพิธีกรรมอื่นๆ ให้เลิกใช้คำว่า “ พระยาเวห์ ” ตามคำสั่งของสมณกระทรวงพิธีกรรม - พบคำว่า “ พระยาเวห์ ” ขอให้เปลี่ยนและอ่านว่า “ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ”
- พบคำว่า “ พระยาเวห์ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ” ให้เปลี่ยนและอ่านว่า “ พระเจ้า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ”
2. ในบทสร้อยรับ บทเพลงสดุดี หลังบทอ่านที่ 1 ซึ่งมีคำว่า “ พระยาเวห์ จำนวน 13 บท ” จะต้องเปลี่ยนโดยอนุโลมให้ใช้คำว่า “ องค์พระเจ้า ” เพื่อนำไปใช้ขับร้องให้ถูกต้อง
3. สำหรับผู้ที่จะประพันธ์บทเพลงใหม่ให้เลิกใช้คำว่า “ พระยาเวห์ ” ส่วนแปลเพลงจากภาษาต่างประเทศ หากมีคำว่า
“ พระยาเวห์ ” ให้แปลว่า “ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ” หรือ “ พระเจ้า ”
จากการเปลี่ยนแปลงด้านพิธีกรรมในครั้งนี้ ได้ให้เหตุผลว่า เพื่อรักษาธรรมประเพณีของพระศาสนจักรที่ไม่เคยใช้คำว่า
“ พระยาเวห์ ”
