HIGHEST PEAK

Mt. Everest,  the highest peak of the Himalayas has an unexplainable attraction to professional mountain climbers. Anyone who has engaged themselves in this sport looks at it as a dream if one day they could touch their feet on its 8,880 meter peak, which all year round is covered in snow. Only a few realized their dream and many have given up along the way up.

Along the trail, people can see two memorial tablets. The first tablet contains the following words: “The last time they were seen while trying to climb.” The second tablet contains the words: “He died while climbing.”

If life is a ceaseless struggle, then living and practicing faith is the same. The importance is not whether one succeeds or fails, but that one gets up and keeps going. In fact, we should say ascending because the motto of Christians ought to be: “Today is better than yesterday, but not as good as tomorrow.”

The second secret to success is that we should never walk on the way of holiness alone. We must follow the examples of those who have gone before us, the saints, and we walk together hand in hand. Most importantly, we must walk in the footprints that Jesus left behind for us.  (R.Veritas)
